RHEMA WORD DEVOTIONAL
THE FAITH FIGHT
2 Tim 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
How many can look back over their lives and truly claim to have fought a good fight? Are you fighting a good fight for your family right now? Are you fighting a good fight in that organization? Among your colleagues, in your neighborhood? Do you even know what you are fighting for? What you should be fighting for? You cannot fight the good fight if you do not even know for what cause you are fighting!
What is this good fight? 1 Tim 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” The good fight is the fight of faith. It’s your battle to fight and no one else’. How is this battle to be fought? The good fight is fought by laying hold on eternal life through your confession of faith!
This means speaking the same thing God has spoken! Many blame God when bad things happen to some Christians. However, they do not know the thought patterns of said Christians nor do they know what these Christians have been confessing and establishing in their minds. Prov 6:2 (AMP) You are snared with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth. That’s why the bible emphasizes the importance of renewing your mind!
To fight the fight of faith, our thoughts have to be exchanged for God’s thoughts. We must give up thoughts of defeat, poverty, sickness, etc for God’s thoughts of triumph, prosperity, peace and faith.
